BuzzD Timer

BuzzD Timer Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 30 July 2026

1. What this policy covers

This policy describes the BuzzD Timer application, the software you install on your device. It should be read together with the BuzzD Timer Terms of Use.

It does not describe the stupandas.com website, which records standard visitor information of its own. That is covered by the separate Terms of Use and Privacy Policy published on this website.

2. The short version

BuzzD Timer does not collect your personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not operate a server. Your events and settings are stored on your own device and are never transmitted to us.

The rest of this policy explains that in detail, and covers the two services the App itself can talk to (the Microsoft Store and PayPal), as well as the Windows component it runs inside, which is Microsoft's rather than ours.

3. Who we are

BuzzD Timer is provided by Stupandas (ABN 94 696 024 046), a registered business name operating as a sole trader in Australia. You can contact us at support@stupandas.com.

If the operation of Stupandas or the App is transferred to a successor entity, including a company later formed for that purpose, this policy continues to apply. Since we hold no personal information about you, there is no user data to transfer.

4. What the App stores on your device

The App saves the following in local storage on your own device:

  • Your events: the names, times, intervals, and alert settings you create.
  • Your preferences: display mode, colours, sounds, window behaviour, and similar.
  • A copy of any custom alert sound you choose (Pro). When you pick a sound file, the App reads it once and saves a copy (up to 1 MB) in its own local storage, so the alert keeps working if you later move or delete the original. That copy stays on your device like everything else in this list.
  • A cached record of your Pro entitlement: whether the Microsoft Store last confirmed you own BuzzD Timer Pro, and when it said so.

This information stays on your device. It is not uploaded, synced, or backed up by us. We have no ability to read it, and no copy of it exists anywhere else unless you export it yourself.

Uninstalling the App does not delete this data by default, and that is deliberate: your events survive an uninstall so that upgrading to a new version never costs you the events you have built up. Your preferences are normally kept too, though we do not promise that every setting will carry across every version.

To remove it, you have two options. The Windows uninstaller offers a "Delete app data" checkbox: tick it and everything listed above is erased. Or you can delete the folder yourself at any time, at %LOCALAPPDATA%\stupandas.buzzdtimer.

Because we never receive any of it, deleting it is entirely within your control, and once deleted, it cannot be recovered by us. If you want to keep a copy first, or move your setup to another computer, use the App's export function.

5. What the App does not do

To be explicit, BuzzD Timer does not:

  • create an account or ask for your name, email, or any other identifier;
  • collect analytics, usage statistics, crash reports, or diagnostics;
  • contain advertising or advertising SDKs;
  • track you across apps, sites, or devices;
  • sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone (there is none to share);
  • read or write any file except one you have explicitly chosen: a sound file you pick as an alert, a backup you ask it to import, or a backup you ask it to export.

6. The two connections the App can make

Microsoft Store: checking your Pro entitlement. If you have purchased BuzzD Timer Pro, the App asks the Microsoft Store whether your Microsoft account owns the buzzd_timer_pro product. This happens through Microsoft's own store APIs on your device.

  • We receive only a yes/no answer about entitlement.
  • We never see your Microsoft account details, your name, your email, or your payment information. Microsoft is the merchant: payment is handled entirely by them and never passes through us.
  • This exchange is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

PayPal: only if you choose to donate. The App shows a Donate button. Nothing is sent to PayPal unless you click it. Clicking opens the PayPal donation page in your own web browser; the App itself does not process, transmit, or see any payment information. Anything you do from that point is between you and PayPal, under the PayPal Privacy Statement at paypal.com/privacy.

Apart from these two, the App itself makes no network connections.

One caveat we would rather state than gloss over: BuzzD Timer runs inside the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, a Windows component supplied by Microsoft. We do not control it and cannot speak for it. It may communicate with Microsoft independently of anything the App does, for example to check for its own updates. That is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement above, not by this policy. Everything else in this policy describes what the App does, which is the part we are responsible for.

7. Your rights

Because we hold no personal information about you, most data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) have nothing for us to act on. Your data is already entirely in your hands: the App's export function gives you a portable copy, and clearing the App's data deletes it.

If you believe we hold personal information about you and want to access, correct, or delete it, or if you have a privacy complaint, email support@stupandas.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with its own data protection authority, you may also complain to your local regulator.

8. Children

BuzzD Timer is a general-purpose utility, not directed at children, and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

9. International users

The App is available worldwide. Since no personal information leaves your device, there is no international transfer of your data by us. Your dealings with Microsoft and PayPal are governed by their own policies, which cover their own transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. The current version is always the one published on this page, which the App links to from its About panel. If a future version of the App ever begins collecting information (it does not today, and we have no plans for it to), we will say so here, and in the App's release notes, before it happens.

11. Contact

If you have questions regarding this policy, please contact us at support@stupandas.com.
